Brenau University is located in Gainesville, Georgia, USA. It was founded in 1878 and was originally named Georgia Baptist Female Seminary, dedicated to providing higher education for women. In 1900, the school was renamed "Brenau", which combines the German word "brennen" (burning) and the Latin word "aurum" (gold), symbolizing the school motto of "purified by fire like gold". Today, Brenau University has developed into a coeducational private university with four colleges and offers more than 50 degree programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels. The school focuses on cultivating students' leadership and innovation capabilities and is committed to providing students with a diversified educational experience.
