Canisius University, located in Buffalo, New York, was founded in 1870 by the German Jesuits as a private Catholic Jesuit university. The campus occupies approximately 72 acres and has a student body of approximately 2,600 students, with a student-to-faculty ratio of approximately 11:1 and all courses taught by full-time faculty. The university has a College of Arts and Sciences, a College of Business, and a College of Education and Human Services, and offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and 30 master's degree and certificate programs in popular fields such as health sciences, business administration, and education.
