Malcolm X College, a two-year public community college under the umbrella of City Colleges of Chicago, was founded in 1911 and is located on the Near West Side of Chicago, Illinois. The college focuses on healthcare education and offers a variety of health science programs designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university or directly into the workforce.In 2016, the college opened a new $251 million campus with a virtual hospital and state-of-the-art teaching facilities. The College offers associate degrees, short-term certificate programs, free adult education and continuing education courses. Students have access to a variety of resources, including a wellness center, transfer center, and career center.
