The University of Michigan–Flint is located in Flint, Michigan, and was founded in 1956 as part of the University of Michigan system but operates independently. The campus covers approximately 70 acres in the downtown riverside area and includes modern teaching and research buildings, a library, and two student dormitories. The university is currently developing a campus plan for the next decade. UM-Flint comprises five colleges: Arts and Sciences, Management, Health Sciences, Nursing, and Innovation and Technology, offering over 150 undergraduate and graduate programs.
