William Woods University, located in Fulton, Missouri, was founded in 1870 as a girls' school for Civil War orphans. It has grown into a private university offering undergraduate, graduate and online programs. The school is known for its majors in equine studies, American Sign Language (ASL), and criminal justice.WWU focuses on hands-on teaching and learning with more than 40 student organizations spanning academic, service, religious, and social areas.
